Built With C.A.R.

CEO, Ethica AI

I just walked off stage with Phil Hawkins, CEO of the California Association of REALTORS.

We talked about how Ethica can help agents save time and support more compliant transaction workflows. We also talked about what it means for VoicePilot to be available as a member benefit to C.A.R. members.

But the part I want to focus on now is the support behind that work. I want to thank Phil, C.A.R., and the entire C.A.R. organization for supporting Ethica in the way they have. Their support gives us the opportunity to better support agents.

What did Judd Hoffman and Phil Hawkins discuss at Inman?

Our conversation focused on the practical role artificial intelligence can play in a real estate transaction. The opportunity is not to replace the agent. Real estate agents do not need AI to sell; the opportunity is to remove the unnecessary work around the agent.

Real estate professionals spend significant time capturing transaction details, entering information into forms, reviewing documents, correcting missing information, coordinating signatures, and moving work between disconnected systems. That administrative burden takes time away from clients, negotiations, judgment, and relationships.

Ethica is building VoicePilot to address that part of the transaction. VoicePilot allows agents to provide transaction information using voice or text and helps place that information into select California Association of REALTORS forms. The agent then reviews, edits, and approves the information before anything is finalized.

The technology performs operational work while the agent remains responsible for professional judgment and final approval.

How can Ethica help real estate agents save time?

Saving time does not come from giving an agent another dashboard. It comes from removing steps. An agent should not have to take information already discussed with a client and manually re-enter it across multiple fields and documents. The shorter the distance between the client conversation and the completed transaction work, the more useful the technology becomes. VoicePilot is designed to help close that distance.

Agents can work through voice or text, including from a phone, without downloading another application. The system helps capture the information needed for supported forms and presents the entries for agent review.

The goal is straightforward: reduce manual transaction work while preserving agent control. That is where time is returned to the agent.

How can AI support real estate compliance?

No technology can remove the professional responsibility of the agent or the supervisory responsibility of the broker. Compliance support begins with a structured workflow. The system should help identify required information. It should surface missing fields and inconsistencies. It should give the agent an opportunity to verify every entry. It should preserve a clear review and approval process before documents are finalized.

AI should not make professional decisions for the agent. It should make it easier for the agent to complete the required work accurately and consistently. That is the distinction between claiming that technology makes someone compliant and building technology that supports a compliance-focused transaction process.

Why does C.A.R.'s support matter?

C.A.R.'s support matters because real estate technology should be built with an understanding of the industry it is meant to serve. The California Association of REALTORS represents the professionals who use these forms and manage these transactions every day. C.A.R. understands the responsibilities agents carry, the role brokers play, and the importance of keeping real estate professionals at the center of the transaction.

C.A.R.'s support of Ethica signals that practical AI for real estate should be developed around those realities. C.A.R. has also made a strategic investment in Ethica AI, reinforcing the shared objective of modernizing transaction workflows, improving compliance support, and reducing friction for REALTORS. That relationship gives Ethica the opportunity to continue building directly around the needs of agents.

What does the C.A.R. member benefit include?

VoicePilot is available as a free member benefit to active C.A.R. members. It is designed to help REALTORS complete select C.A.R. forms through voice or text. The agent remains responsible for reviewing and approving the information. VoicePilot does not replace C.A.R. forms, agent judgment, broker supervision, or legal advice. It supports the operational work surrounding the transaction.

That is what makes the member benefit important. It gives C.A.R. members access to practical AI technology without requiring another subscription, setup fee, or application download. More importantly, it introduces the technology through an organization agents already know and trust.

A thank you to C.A.R.

The conversation with Phil Hawkins was a chance to discuss where this technology is going. It was also a reminder of who is helping make the work possible. C.A.R. did not stand at a distance and wait to see what happened. Phil and the C.A.R. team have actively supported Ethica as we build technology designed around the work real estate agents actually perform.

That support matters. It allows us to keep listening, improving, and building tools that help agents spend less time on administrative friction and more time serving clients.

Thank you to Phil Hawkins. Thank you to C.A.R. And thank you to the entire C.A.R. family for supporting Ethica so we can support agents.
